For the summer of 2024 and 2025, I worked as an Instructor of Record in the Summer Research Academy program at UCSB. I had to chance to create and teach two bio-inspired engineering courses for high school students!
For my latest class on bio-inspired fluid mechanics, we had an interactive field trip to the REEF, collected data with Particle Imaging Velocimetry (PIV) , and learned how to make fluid simulations on COMSOL.
Community Outreach
I have also participated in outreach events ranging from presenting my research at teacher conferences, teaching elementary school students how to build pneumatic artificial muscles, and drawing comics explaining the physics of my air jumpers!
Graduate Student Assembly
As current Vice President and one of the original board members, we made the Mechanical Engineering GSA at UCSB to promote graduate student networking, both within the department and with industry and alumni connections.
